Meet Jamila and Rashon

We are Jamilla and Rashon—friends, business partners and most importantly lovers of Moroccan culture. We create authentic travel experiences and immersion program to explore Moroccan culture.

We are a women owned business helping travelers to explore authenticity and live passionately. We partner with women owned business in Morocco to provide guided tours to bring you our love of travel, culture and health.

How Did We Become Partners?

We met in May 2017 when Rashon’s husband was providing a tour for some of Jamila’s tour clients in Morocco. We quickly learned that we only lived 3 miles away from one another in Atlanta and have so many interests and values in common and are a natural fit. When Jamila decided to return to Morocco after living in the U.S. for 15 years, we formed a Moroccan-American partnership to bring authentic travel experiences to travelers around the world.

We are more than partners— we’re sisters in travel, friendship and laughter.

I’m Jamilla an experienced teacher in Morocco and in the United States. I recently relocated back to Morocco to bring all of my culture to you.

I specialize in providing unique Moroccan experiences to travelers and making Morocco feel like your home away from home. I enjoy sharing tips on the best local foods to try, where to listen to authentic music and finding fun things to do like yoga.

I am Rashon, a health researcher turned travel curator. My expertise is in heart disease prevention, and I’ve conducted research in HIV/AIDS, Ebola, and food insecurity. As a health coach, I values showing travelers the delicious and health cuisines in Morocco.

My background is in health, psychology and sociology but my love of culture, food and travel has taken me to over 35 countries across the world. For the past 3 years I’ve called Morocco my second home.

OUR COMPANY

We started Exploring Morocco Culture to provide immersive experiences in Morocco after noticing that many travelers only get to see the tourist attractions and often miss all of the unique aspects of food, music, religion, and family traditions.

We encourage our guest to re-think how you travel and to explore the culture. Whether you are with us for one week or one month, you will leave as family.

You will get to see all of the sites, take amazing Instagram worthy photos, but you will also learn about the history of the communities that we visit and the everyday lives of Moroccans. A trip with us means that you get to see what living in Morocco feels like, yet you’ll also get to experience some of the glitz and glamour that’s woven into the cultural fabric of Morocco. We do all that we can to tailor our trips so that you experience the rich culture that is Morocco.

Immersive Travel

As a Moroccan based company we are able to provide authentic travel experiences rooted in Moroccan culture, yet tailored for worldly travelers. We’ve built personal partnerships with the communities we travel and curate travel experiences based on cultivating relationships.

Immersive Education

We prioritize providing cultural experiences for learners at every stage of life. We provided tailored educations plans through immersion for our guest that prioritizes high quality educational experiences. We currently offer immersion experiences with a cultural learning center in Rabat and service learning for K-12 students. We also partner with medical schools for medical students and public health to interested in understanding global health care.

Health and Wellness

We curate health retreats that integrate Moroccan traditional medicinal practices with holistic health practices from across the globe. As wellness experts we believe that the healthy self is the best self.
